Located in the Tabanan Regency about 50 km north of Denpasar on a main route from South Bali to North Bali, Bedugul is one of Bali’s favorite spot for spending weekend for local and foreigners alike. In tourist dictionary the word “Bedugul” covers a large area of the central highlands of Bali around the villages of Candikuning, Pancasari, Pacung and Wanagiri. Bedugul has scenic panorama as well as beautiful temple.
The focal point of Bedugul’s beauty is three crater lakes of Bratan (Beratan), Buyan and Tamblingan and the nearby botanical gardens. The whole area is at an altitude of 700 metres or more with the tallest mountain peaks above 2,000 metres and it can be distinctly cold here.
Bedugul has good range of tourist accommodations and various nature related activities to do, range from water sports to trekking deep into the forest around the lakes, from fun outbound activities to playing golf in a course that is considered one of the very best in Asia.
